Our History
Pneumatic Applications Company was formed in 1953 as a manufacturer of press clutches and brakes. In 1974, the name was shortened and a trademark was registered for P/A Industries Inc. P/A began designing and building Automation Equipment for the Metal Stamping and Fabricating Industry. With sales of under $1 Million and 10 employees, P/A began marketing their products throughout North America.
As the business continued to grow, a strategic plan was established to market our products worldwide. In 1994, P/A formed P/A Retain Ltd., a Taiwan manufacturing company that has since expanded into handling sales in the Pacific Basin. In 1995, P/A established P/A Bohemia s.r.o. in the Czech Republic to handle sales and service for Eastern Europe. In 1996, P/A purchased 50% of a CNC Machining Company, Mectool Sweden AB. In January 2000, P/A established P/A GmbH in Germany, a sales and service company.
In 1998, P/A was presented the "Beacon Award". In 1999, The Hartford Chamber of Commerce presented its Leadership Award in the Large Business Category to P/A.
Today, P/A markets its products in 32 countries.
